Nearly any vegetable will adapt to growing in a container. I would avoid those that sprawl, such as melons or winter squash, but any other veggie can be grown in a container. You will need at least 2 gallon pots for most veggies and 5 gallon pots for tomato plants because they have extensive root systems. Use potting soil and be sure to water as often as necessary (potted plants dry out faster than the same plants grown in the ground). When you fertilize, use a water soluable fertilizer and dilute it half strength. I use Miracle Gro or Peter's. Feed every 3-4 weeks with this half strength dilution and your veggies should thrive. Enjoy your container garden!
