As you've discovered, not all insecticides are safe to use on all plants. And, most insecticides are specific to certain pests so you won't find one that will wipe out all pests. The best course of action is to identify the pests and choose a product specific to that pest. Read the label to make sure cherry trees are listed on the label so you'll know it is safe to use on your weeping cherry. Until you can catch the critters in the act, there's not much to recommend in terms of sprays. Quite often the pests are already gone by the time we notice they have been feeding so it's possible the pests have already moved on. Check your tree at several different times of the day, including early morning and at dusk. I hope you find those critters!
