How long do seeds keep once opened and how should they be stored? |
If seeds are kept in an air tight container and stored in a cool, dark location, they should remain viable for at least two years. You can store seeds longer, but their viability will diminish with age. I store mine in canning jars with a tablespoon or so of dried powdered milk, to help absorb moisture. Just put the containers on a closet floor, or way back in a cupboard, so the temperature remains constant and where it stays dark. |
