Zoysia will grow from small plugs. Just use a sharp knife and cut two inch wide squares from the established zoysia, cutting down 4-6 inches to get the roots attached to the turf. Then replant. Each plug will take some time to establish but then you should see new growth. Or, you can cut a larger slab out of the turf and divide it into one inch plugs, with roots attached. The key is to cut deeply so you get the established roots. Good luck with your project!
