Ropel and Deer Away are both bitter tasting and most gardeners find they work very well. If your coneflower is a favorite plant of local rabbits you may want to place a barrier over the plant until it grows large enough to tolerate occasional nibbling from the rabbits. I use chicken wire fashioned into cylinders which I set over vulnerable plants. The bunnies cannot access and feed on the plants and when the plants grow large enough to fend for themselves, I remove the cylinders. Good luck with your coneflowers!
