I have noticed worms coming from a web type nest on my tree trunk. Maybe, silk worms, the tree has already shown signs of attack. What can I do to eradicate?

You can start by removing the nest from your tree. Then spray with Bt (bacillus thuringensis) sold as Dipel or Thuricide. This is a naturally occurring bacterium that affects caterpillars but does not harm beneficial insects, wildlife, humans or pets. Good luck with your landscape!
