What fruits/vegetables are best for planting in Miami ... a simple backyard garden by a simple little-experienced individual ... me!! Smiling Thanks,

Vegetable gardens in Miami are usually planted in March and again in September to take advantage of cooler temperatures. About the only vegetables that will grow during the summer months are okra and lima beans. So, you have a few months to prepare the soil for your garden and to think about the types of veggies you would like to grow.

The University of Florida has a terrific publication that you can download and print. At the end of the publication is a list of vegetables and their preferred planting dates. Here's the web address:
