Either tall fescue or bermuda are the best turfgrasses for your gardening region. Or, you can have the best of both worlds if you plant bermuda and overseed in the fall with perennial ryegrass. Bermuda is a warm season grass which goes dormant in September or October when the cool weather arrives. Perennial rye is a cool season grass which wakes up when the bermuda goes dormant and remains green until the weather warms (about April). Bermuda is usually overseeded with perennial rye every September. Best wishes with your lawn!
