The Q&A Archives: Summer squash

Question: we have had a very wet spring and my summer squash plants are beautiful. Big, lush, green, loads of blooms and small squash. here is the problem. the squash are small and thin and not growing at all. Help?

Answer: Your squash may be waiting for warmer weather and drier soil conditions to resume growth. Overly wet soils can suffocate roots which will slow growth. Give your plants a few more weeks to recover and I think they will resume developing those squashes. Enjoy!
