I have some rose plants and would know how can i improve the quality of my soil so that my roses can benefit form it? Also they have signs of black spots. I've purchase the Ortho Rose Pride, is this the best way to go? I don't want to kill the roses.

Rose Pride is an excellent fungicide. Use according to label directions and it should control the black spot disease. You can use a 2-3 inch mulch over the soil beneath your roses. Compost is best and as it decomposes it adds nutrients to the soil. Enjoy your roses!
