Is early June too late to plant cosmos from seed in upstate NY and do you have seeds? It seems to be a hot item here and I can't find either seeds or flats!

It is not too late to plant annual cosmos from seed. In fact, it germinates better in warm soil. However, it is a good idea to get them going as soon as possible.

The quickest way to verify availability of your preferred variety and to order is to call Burpee toll free at 1-800-888-1447 Mon.- Fri. 9 am - 8 pm ET, Sat. & Sun. 9 am - 5 pm ET. As of this moment, there are still some seeds available.
