The Q&A Archives: Weed Control for Aspargus

Question: Would rotted sawdust make a good mulch to control weeds in an asparagus patch?

Answer: Rotted sawdust would work fine as a mulch. You could get even better results from laying newspapers down first and then topping them with the sawdust. I use the "newspaper topped with straw" method every year in my vegetable garden, and it provides great weed control. Good luck.
