how often do I water my longan trees & how much? The tree is about 3 years old. Last year, I only got about 10 fruits. Thank you |
It isn't unusual for longan trees to produce a heavy crop one year and then lighter crops for the next 2-3 years. Your tree is young so don't expect too much from it for another few years. These trees like moist soil and occasional flooding so water as often as necessary to keep the soil moist. They don't like droughty conditions at all so you will probably need to water at least twice a week - three times a week if the weather is really hot. Be sure to apply water slowly so it trickles down and wets the entire root mass. Good luck with your tree! |
