| Determinate varieties grow to a certain size, then develop fruit. They have very little new growth once fruit sets. They produce most of the tomatoes in a short period, thus are good for canning projects, for example. Indeterminate varieties will continue to put out new shoots and blossoms even after fruit has set. It has a longer producing season, which is nice for eating fresh tomatoes. |
