I have a Rhododendrun that I've had for years and this year it seems dead but the branches are soft to bend. It's on the North side of the house. Should I wait and see what happens while everyone else's are in bloom or just dig it up?

If the branches are still pliable, the plant may still be alive. Try pruning it back a little to encourage new growth. If it sprouts new foliage, it will be fine. If not, you may want to replace it. Best wishes with your rhodie.
