The Q&A Archives: spots on lilac

Question: i have a new 6 week lilac tree (small) it's got brown spots on leaves. and a flower growing beside it is getting spots also

Answer: Lilac leaf blight is common and the best approach is to prune your lilacs back immediately after flowering. Pruning stimulates healthy new growth, removes the older, most blight susceptible leaves, and ensures you'll have lots of flowers the following year. Best wishes with your lilac.
