I planted lupines last year and they started off real nice than died on me. I bought more plants this year and four of the six plants I planted died. I do not know why?

Lupine thrives in cool, moist locations. It prefers full sun to light shade and average soils, but will tolerate sandy, dry soil. Plants develop long taproots and they will not grow in clay. Try amending your soil with lots of organic matter prior to planting and water deeply so the entire taproot gets moist each time you water. Hope this helps!
