Asparagus crowns are usually planted in the very early spring as soon as the ground can be worked, but I have planted them as late as mid-June with good success. Just be sure to keep them well watered and growing vigorously this summer to help compensate for the late start. You might also delay harvesting by a year to allow the plants ample time to become well established. Good luck with your asparagus!
