| The mulch not only makes an area look neat and clean, it will also suppress weeds, slow evaporation and provide nutrients to the roots of the plants. Mulch is a good thing! But if it is too close to the leaves or the stems of the flowers, it should be brushed back a little so it won't hold too much moisture against the stems of the plants. That could cause rot. |
