The Q&A Archives: Brown

Question: Morning Glory: I have a trellis that they grow on however..the top is always nice and green and the bottom half is brown and scraggly. How do I get the whole trellis to look green and flowery? All the blooms are on top with the green leaves. Ruth Rutty Rochester, NY

Answer: Sun, Ruth, sun. They need lots of sun (at least 6 hours/day) so the lower leaves stay on and stay green. Also, add some compost to the soil in spring and keep them well watered and they should grow like weeds!
