Is there a problem in planting tomatoes, cucumbers and peppers in a large flower bed that contains daylilies and St. John's Wort (hypericum)?

All of the plants you've mentioned have the same growing requirements - sunshine! There's no reason why you cannot interplant your veggies with your flowers. I do it all the time and the results are terrific. Hope you have a bountiful harvest!
