I HAVE A VERY LARGE ONION CROP THIS YEAR AND IN THE PAST I HAVE ALWAYS TIED THEM OFF IN PANTY HOSE AND I WAS WONDERING IF THERE IS A BETTER WAY TO STORE THEM? ANY SUGGESTIONS WOULD BE APPRECIATED. THX |
As long as you store them in a cool, dark place, you can either store them in mesh bags (or pantyhose) or tie them together and hang them in bunches. To start a string take four onions and tie the stalks together, then tie the knotted stalks to a long piece of string. Hang this from a rafter in the ceiling or other high place. You can add more onions one at a time by tying their stalks around the string. Hope this helps! |
