I FINALLY HAVE A NICE PLANTING OF BLUEBONNETS AND THEY NOW HAVE THE SEED PODS AT THE TOP OF THE PLANT. TO GET MY PLANTS TO SPREAD, I DO WHAT? HELP, HELP, I DO NOT WANT TO LOSE THESE FLOWERS, ALSO, DO I WANT TO WATER THEM IN THE WINTER SO I HAVE A NICE SPRING CROP? |
Wait until the seed pods turn a tannish brown and are dry to the touch, then collect them and put them in a paper bag. When the seeds are ripe the seed pods will burst open. You can plant the seeds in the fall and water them regularly until fall/winter rains arrive. The seeds need a cold period before they will sprout. In the spring the seeds will sprout for you. Enjoy! |
