My mother-in-law has the orange geum plants. They have just bloomed and she was wondering if they will bloom again or should the old shoots be cut back so the power will go to the plant to produce the flowers again.

Geum should bloom over a long season (May - September), if dead blooms are removed. They grow best in full sun to part shade in ordinary garden soil that has good drainage. Cut back the spent flowers and their stems and new flowers will follow in a few short weeks.
