Answer: If you don't want to fill the cracks with crushed stones, how about purchasing some bermuda sod and cutting it into small strips to fill in the cracks? It won't need mowing very often and when it does you can simply use a weed whacker. I'd excavate the area down at least 3-4 inches and set the sod in the cracks so it is just at the same level as the concrete. Or, you can plant a creeping groundcover such as creeping thyme.
