I am really interested in growing tomatoes, but I live in an apartment. Can I grow them on my balcony?

Tomatoes adapt well to growing in containers. Use 3-gallon containers and fill them with potting soil. The following are examples of Florida varieties bred especially for container culture:

`Florida Basket' ? A dwarf tomato for hanging baskets. Produces 1-inch fruit on a 6-inch plant.
`Floragold Basket' ? Grow 3 plants in a 12-inch hanging basket to produce lots of yellow cherry-size fruits.
`Tiny Tim' ? Round, red ? inch fruit on 18-inch vine.
`Micro-Tom' ? an extremely dwarf type for 4-inch pots.
`Sweet 100' ? Big plant, small fruit in clusters.

Or you can grow any "patio" type tomato plant. Good luck with your tomatoes!
