| I have ten 8-10 year old red twigged dogwoods planted along an alley way. Last summer, it was very hot and dry. They don't look very healthy this year(spindly and with very few leaves). Are they dead? How can I revive them? Someone suggested pelleted lime. Would that work? Thankyou |
| I don't think lime will be nearly as effective as simply watering the plants deeply once each week and pruning them back to encourage healthy new growth. When you prune you'll be getting rid of the spindly, leggy growth and encouraging lots of new stems and leaves. Regular watering will help them fill in nicely this summer.
