My fence needs to be replaced, but we also want to replace the lawn with artifical lawn and put in a dog run. Which should be done first? This goes for both the front and back yard.

Since you'll probably be digging new fence posts, I'd do the fence first. The dog run should be the second project. When you've finished with the hardscape projects you can level the soil and install the turf. It will be like the icing on the cake and will almost instantly complete your landscape. Best wishes with your projects!
