| I have a new pink dogwood tree that is planted in a shaded area. All of the leaves are wilting severely. The tree still looks alive and the leaves are green. The ground is moist from all the rain we have received lately so i know that it is not from lack of water. It looks like it is dying. Why would all the leaves be limp and wilted looking? Thank you. |
| The symptoms of too much water are the same as too little - wilting foliage. Couple that with a little transplant shock and your dogwood is likely to look puny for several more weeks. If the soil remains saturated for long periods of time it can suffocate the roots. There's not much you can do about rainfall, and once the tree adjusts to growing in your landscape, it should be able to handle your seasonal rains. There's not much you can do to help your tree adjust - it just takes time. I hope it perks up soon! |
