Do you know the proper pH for bush beans, lima bush, and peas? I've looked high and low and can't find the information. |
Peas are happiest in soil with a pH range of 6.0 to about 6.8. Bush and limas will grow in a pH range of 5.8 to 6.8. Just for general reference, most home grown veggies will tolerate soils within the 5.5 to 7.0 range. Anything higher or lower can affect the availability of nutrients, binding up minerals and preventing the roots of the plants from using them. |
