I have poison ivy in my fence and it is close to my rose of sharon bushes that I am trying to grow as a privacy. I have a small child and dogs and cats in the yard. How do I get rid of it??

The best approach is to cut the stems of the poison ivy at ground level and immediately paint the stubs with Round Up or Brush B Gon. The herbicide will be transported to the roots and will kill them. As new sprouts appear, cut them down and paint them, too. As long as you keep children and pets out of the area until the herbicide dries, it shouldn't cause harm.

Good luck with your project!
