The Q&A Archives: Planting rose bushes

Question: I live in Pittsburgh, PA; in my area is it best to plant rose bushes where they get morning sun or ought I to plant them for afternoon sun?

Thanks, Carl

Answer: Roses grow and flower best when the get at least 8 hours of direct sunshine. Afternoon sun is more intense so if you only have afternoon sun, they may be happy with 6 hours of sunlight.
