Hi, I got 2 Tidal Wave petunias to put in 14 inch hanging baskets, hoping they'd spill over, etc. Now I read that they get big like a hedge. How do you think they will do in a hanging basket on a porch that gets hot aft sun, north central KY. |
Tidal wave petunias are vining plants but if they are planted close together they will scramble up one another and form a tall hedgelike plant. I would plant a single tidal wave in the hanging basket and then pinch it back to train it to cascade over the sides. As each stem gets long it will get heavy enough to trail downward. Just pinch out the growing tips of each stem and your tidal wave should fill the hanging basket and spill out over the sides. It will look spectacular! |
