The Q&A Archives: bleeding heart

Question: should I trim back my bleeding heart after it is done blooming.

Answer: You don't need to prune it back. It will eventually die down later this summer and at that time you can prune away the dead foliage. The roots will rest until next spring. Best wishes with your garden!
