If the leaves that dropped were the older, inner leaves, it is normal (evergreens replace their oldest leaves). If the dropped leaves are the newer ones, it indicates a root stress. Too little or too much water can cause this type of stress. I would prune the plant back to encourage new growth and water it deeply once or twice a week. You can feed with a time release 10-10-10 to encourage healthy growth. Best wishes with your holly.
