I purchased Early Girl and 4th of July tomato plants from Home Depot. They had a few white spots on the leaves, now the white spots are holes in the leaves. Don't believe it is mildrew but what could it be and how to correct and get nice leaves.

Could be a fungus or the white spots may have been scale insects or mealybugs or even whiteflies. Their feeding could have caused the affected tissue to fall out. Sometimes when plants are crowded together in nursery trays they can pick up strange things! Inspect the plants for additional white spots and if you find any, dab them with a Q-Tip dipped in insecticidal soap or neem oil. This will take care of any hitchhiking insects.
