My peonies are bushy and look healthy. Why do I get less and less blooms ,but there are lots of buds?

Sometimes a fungal or disease problem such as botrytis can cause blooms not to open. Inspect the unopened buds for signs of disease. If you see any, cut them off the plant. There are fungicides to keep the disease in check but it needs to be applied before the buds begin to form. Spraying at that time will protect the buds. Be sure to read and follow label directions. Best wishes with your peonies.
