| is there a humane way to deter my animals from lying/digging/pooping in my flower beds..they love it but i do not..i scold for all the good that does..i'm a softie but it makes me angry to see all my hard work ruined |
| You might try strewing thorny branches on the ground throughout the bed or at least on the perimeter, you might try covering the soil surface between the plants with a wire mesh such as chicken wire, or you might try using a larger mulch such as nuggets that would be less attractive animals. I've had good luck pounding stakes into the ground and criss-crossing nylon fishing line between the stakes, keeping the line about 6" above the soil level and crossing every 8 inches or so. Animals are afraid they will get their legs caught so they generally avoid the area. Hope this works for you! |
