The Q&A Archives: Yellowing zuchinni

Question: I have agreat vegetable garden where everything grows except my zuchinni. For 4 years I have tried to get it going. It looks good at first then it starts to yellow and the leaves droop and die off.
Please help me save one of my favorite foods.

Answer: Summer squash is usually a prolific grower but if your plants are turning yellow and dying it is most likely due to overly wet or poorly draining soils. Try planting them on a hill, or large mound of soil so tht the roots can stay high and dry = or at least drier than the rest of the garden. I think you'll see a big improvement with your plants.
