How do I stop squirrels from digging up my seeds? - Knowledgebase Question

I love the squirrels that visit my garden. However, they did up every seed and flower I plant. I've put out nosie makers, cayenne pepper and even rimmed the planters with mineral oil and they keep coming back.

Why not take a piece of chicken wire cut to the size of the planting area, and lay it down on the soil. Plant your seeds and flowers, cutting the chicken wire where necessary to get your bedding plants in, and cover the wire with a little mulch. Then the squirrels won't be able to burrow into the soil and uproot the flowers. Hope this works for you!
