| I have some beautiful geraniums (purchased from Home Depot) but several of them are turning yellow, leaves curling up and becoming very limber. What's my problem? |
| Too much water or an insect infestation can cause the symptoms you describe. Geraniums like soil on the dry side and if the soil remains too wet it can cause root rot. Water throughly but then allow the top of the soil to dry out before watering again. As leaves age they tend to turn yellow and curl up, your signal to pinch or prune your plants back. If you just let the leaves fall off on their own you will end up with bare stems (leggy plants). Regular pinching will keep the stems branching out and result in a full plant with lots of flowers. The last thing you might look for are insects. Check on the undersides of the leaves and where the stems meet. If you find insects, pick off the affected leaves and hose them off of the stems.
