I have knockout roses planted under a large approx. 15 ft.tall crepe myrtle. because the roott are so shallow the roses are not doing well and need to be moved. (this is my 4th summer and i have tried everything.)is there something else i can plant? it is a large area. i originally had 5 rose bushes planted.

You can plant perennials such as salvias, dahlias, columbine, daylilies, mums, lantana, Nepeta Walkers Low and Amsonia Blue Star. These are all good choices for beneath your crape myrtles.
