I planted 2 beards-tongue perennials while in bloom. The blooms have fallen off now. Do I cut back these plants,
and if so, how far back? Or do I simply pick off the remaining blooms. Will these flowers re-bloom?

Penstemon in the Latin name for Beard Tongue. Cut back the blooms and their stems and the plant will bloom again on side shoots later in the summer. Penstemon likes soil on the dry side, so be careful not to overwater.
