Is there anything that is safe to use on weeds in the yard when we have ducks and dogs running around?

Hand pulling/hand digging are probably the safest methods, but you might also try one of the following:

Boiling water is a pet safe weed killer and will instantly kill any plant it comes in contact with by literally cookingthe plant in the ground. But be careful, boiling water will kill all plants, not just the weeds.

Vinegar works well as a pet friendly weed killer. All you need to do is spray the vinegar on the plants that you wish to kill. For tougher weeds, vinegar may need to be applied several times before the plant completely dies.

Salt - If there is an entire area where you wish to control weeds, such as a brick path or patio, salt works well; making the soil unsuitable for plants or weeds to grow in.
