The Q&A Archives: Peter's Honey Fig

Question: Can I grow Peter's Honey Fig in New York?

Answer: Unfortunately, figs are generally only winter hardy to zone 8, so your chances of growing it successfully are not very good. You might be able to winter some over in a very sheltered and protected microclimate, such as inside a courtyard or perhaps with the assistance of a hoop house, but it would be a serious gamble. To be honest, I don't think I would try it.
