Hello, I have black spots and bloches on the leaves of some of the plants I just planted (peach, gooseberry, and blueberry) and it is spreading quickly. Once the disease progresses, the leaf is half black with white tips at the end and falls off. I could send a picture if someone could provide me a link. What do you think this is/how treat? thank you

What you describe could be a disease or it could be caused by environmental or cultural conditions. On the peach, it could be a fungal disease called scab. The leaves will show an olive-green, almost black coloration. If the leaves are actually black, it is more likely a bacterial blight. Without being able to actually see the affected leaves, I'm only offering an educated guess. For a postitive diagnosis, take a few of the affected leaves to your local cooperative extension office. Helpful folks there can narrow down the causes and suggest control remedies. Contact Dodge County UW Extension, Rm 108 County Admin Bldg, 127 E Oak Street, Juneau, WI 53039-1379, Phone: 920-386-3790.
