| It is not unusual for someone to have a temporary reaction to certain plants. Those with prickles on the leaves or stems like zucchini can be especially irritating. I would suggest you wear long sleeved shirt and gloves. Your practice of washing with soap and cool water when you're done is soothing to the skin and a good idea too. I have never heard of zucchini causing dangerous allergic reactions. However, if the reaction gets worse, or causes swelling of your hand or arm, you should contact a doctor for advice on allergic reactions. Have a great gardening summer! |
