we have voles in our flower bed. what can i do to get rid of them? they kill my flowers by eating the roots.

You can try to protect individual plants using wire mesh to stop the immediate damage, however if the vole population is high you may need to take additional measures. Voles, or field mice, can be trapped with regular mouse traps baited with peanut butter. Reset the traps as often as necessary until you eliminate the population.
