The Q&A Archives: String Beans

Question: I planted string beans and they has so many bugs little tiny flea like bugs that i pulled them all out so they wouldnt infect my other veggies.

Answer: Without seeing the pest it's hard to make an absolute identification, but your description matches that of black bean aphid or flea beetles. Either can be controlled with applications of insecticidal soap. Now that the plants are gone, the pests probably are, too. Sorry you lost your crop!
