Often considered difficult-to-control, speedwell has a fibrous root system and spreads rapidly in patches. You can hand dig (repeatedly) or try spot treating with a broadleaf weed killer (such as 2,4-D). Be careful with weed killers, though. They can harm your annuals and perennials as well as weeds!
